There is a YouTube video on the existing page, “Exilis on the Doctors Show” that I would like moved to the new page. Be sure and keep the same parameters on the relocated video, i.e. once it finishes playing, make sure it resets to the beginning so that other videos from YouTube don’t show up. Skin Tightening
The Holy Grail of non-surgical cosmetic procedures is almost certainly skin tightening because loose skin is often the root problem for many appearance-related issues. In order to tighten skin without undergoing surgery with its associated downtime, surgical scars, and prolonged recovery, there is really only one option: Energy!
Let us explain. In order to get tighter skin without surgically cutting it off, a physician must use energy which heats up the deeper layers of the skin to the point of contraction. When energy is applied correctly, a very nice skin tightening affect can be obtained, with practically no downtime, no scars, and minimal pain. We understand this at Impressions MedSpa and we have acquired several state-of-the-art devices to address loose skin.
FAQs
How is skin tightening done?
Lasers have been around for years and are an excellent choice when you are also interested in skin resurfacing. If you have pigmented spots, rough skin, fine wrinkles, spider veins, and loose skin, then lasers should be a prime consideration. Lasers can treat multiple issues in a single treatment, giving you a lot of value for your dollar.
Radio frequency (RF), either alone or combined with ultrasound (US) energy also does a great job of skin tightening and can make even the most stubborn skin contract. After your treatments your skin will slowly tighten over the next 4-6 weeks.
RF Microneedling is a newcomer to the field of skin tightening and incorporates all of the information gleaned through lasers, standard microneedling devices, as well as other RF devices over the years. Our Morpheus device will protect your surface skin while it delivers precise RF energy to the deep skin layers where collagen and elastin are made. Results can be amazing.

Laser Skin Tightening
Laser skin tightening has become increasingly popular due to modern lasers. Laser treatments are FDA approved for the reduction of skin laxity, wrinkles and fine lines, and you will typically notice facial skin tightening immediately after one appointment. Results get even better after two to three sittings.
FAQs
How Does Laser Skin Tightening Work?
Lasers for skin tightening use an infrared wavelength to heat collagen under the skin to specific temperatures. This heating produces a natural biological reaction that contracts the collagen and makes it thicker. Since the skin is “wounded” by the heat, the body produces new collagen to heal. This new collagen production causes immediate tightening of the skin, which conveniently makes the skin tighter and smoother!
Although the results obtained using a laser are not quite as dramatic as those of a surgical face lift, patients prefer laser facial treatments because they get moderate to great results with practically no downtime, minimal discomfort, and for less than 10% of the cost of a facelift. Results are typically awesome!
Laser skin tightening can be used on your face, arms, hands, abdomen and legs. 3-5 monthly treatment sessions are more than enough to get good results.
Is Laser Skin Tightening Painful?
OK let’s get this point out of the way. If a laser beam blasting into your skin conjures up images from Star Wars, you may ask, “Won’t this fry my skin?” Don’t worry; this treatment is not nearly as uncomfortable as you might think.
We use a numbing cream on your treatment area to reduce almost all of the discomfort. We do not like pain, and we go to great lengths to eliminate it. In most cases, you may experience nothing more than a slight heating sensation, or maybe a mild stinging with each pulse of the laser. Some describe it as similar to the feeling from a rubber band being snapped against your skin.
To make things even more comfortable, our laser hand pieces have cooling fluid running through their tips so that your skin is kept cool and comfortable. How cool is that? (Terrible pun. Yes, I know!)
What to Expect Afterwards?
Afterwards you can expect nice rosy skin for 2-5 days which will feel like a sunburn. You shouldn’t be surprised if you feel a subtle warmth in your treated skin for a couple of days afterwards. This is the feeling of new collagen and elastin production.
Is there an ideal candidate For Laser Skin Tightening?
Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for laser skin tightening. Darker-skinned individuals are not good candidates for laser skin tightening because the pigment in their skin may absorb the light energy, causing burns or discoloration.
NOTE: Although such individuals may not be perfect for laser surgery, more experienced surgeons may consider your situation and may make exceptions. Dr. Damery assesses patients on a case-by-case basis, and so it never hurts to ask!
Are the results permanent?
Well, yes and no. You see, your genetics can play a major role in your skin laxity and for those individuals with family histories of skin issues, a yearly touch up session may be necessary.
Also, your lifestyle choices play an important role in your treatment longevity. Cigarette smoking is the fastest way we know of to ruin your skin, not to mention the rest of your body. Poor nutrition and your degree of sun exposure are also important factors.
Lastly, we cannot forget Father Time and Gravity. These 2 factors are relentless and are not kind to our bodies. Every day they work to undo the work you’ve had done.
So, with this all said, if your family history is ok, and your personal habits are fine, then you can expect 3-5 years of skin improvement after a course of laser skin tightening. To help maintain your investment, a single yearly touchup treatment can extend your results.
Here are some examples of what laser skin tightening can do.

Skin Tightening with RF or US
Skin Tightening can be done using Radio frequency (RF), either alone or combined with ultrasound (US). RF skin tightening has been in use since 2002, while US skin tightening was introduced in 2009. Both treatments work to stimulate the production of collagen in the skin so that the signs of aging are erased. Both RF and US energy can eliminate fine lines, wrinkles, folds, and creases on your face. The primary difference between the two is the energy they use to produce the results you need.
How Does RF & US Skin Tightening Work?
Both treatments are highly effective, but they work differently. US skin treatments direct their energy to the lower levels of the skin and treats your skin layers from the inside out. RF waves work just the opposite. The RF waves treat the outer skin and the energy extends inwards.
